I can't watch this without crying. I am not a person to ask why, but, this is a time that it seems so impossible that an athlete of this caliber and perfection should be asked to give up his life. God never makes a mistake, and I keep telling myself this. Bless dear Ekaterina and be near to her.

Years later this is still heartbreaking. When he and Katia were skating, that was like the Golden Age. They are definitely legends.

I remember how heartbreaking this was for figure skating fans... I had seen him on stars on ice not long before this happened!
