@26Deacon Atleast in Minneapolis I dont see any kind of trash.

I don't live in the Loop, but I live in Near North/Gold Coast/whatever...there's no trains, but 250-300 feet up? You don't hear a damn thing unless your windows are open and then it's only the stupid cab drivers honking randomly. Not really a horrible thing though. Having no noise is kind of creepy.

@Sblazer101 yesChicago is way better than NY. at least we dont have to smell & walk around trash bags stacked up on our sidewalks. we have tadaaaa! ALLEYS!
-
haha its because they want a "taste" of city life.

I now live in the suburbs. But you are right, the sound of those el trains is extremely annoying and constant on certain streets in the loop. A developer is building an 825 ft luxury condo tower on Wabash St. An el train passes every 2 or 3 minutes. I can't imagine anyone having that kind of money who would want to walk in and out of their building experiencing that deafening roar every time. Not to mention that the street is constantly dark under those decrepit el structures.

Yes but we like the stench. That plus drinking in paper bags in train stations. Good times man. Just like how you guys over there apparently like elevated trains lol - how on earth could anybody want an elevated train in their neighborhood? What do you like about them? I'll take a pile of trash instead of a noisy elevated train - we have too many of those hellish lines over here - I wish they'd just bury them but NYC is too cheap to do that!

NYC is better to visit for a week. No doubt. But Chicago is the better place to live for a lifetime.
NYC is littered with trash and graffiti and you are constantly assaulted with sewer stench - even in the best areas. Chicago is much cleaner. Chicago's downtown is still relatively dense, fast-paced and vibrant, but not nearly as hectic and nervewracking as Manhattan. You can find friendly and polite people in both cities, but you'll find more of them in Chicago.
yeah it is, CHICAGO IS AMAZING
