In the 2005-06 season Kobe was arguably the best player in the league. This game was just one of the 82 games why Kobe was the best. Kobe got off to 12 quick 1st quarter points and ended up with 43 against one of the best defensive teams in the league at the time. This is one of the games that shows Kobe's beautiful jumpshot and fadeaway from footwork in the post. It's also the game where Kobe scored an impossible reverse layup and an impossible 28 foot three in the clutch.

All these Kobe vids vs Dallas got me thinking!!!

The reason the lakers lost this year against dallas in the Playoffs wasnt so much about the lakers, but more about the mavs mental state of mind...

They were humiliated and destroyed by the lakers/Kobe for years....

there was the 62 point outburst, the 4th quarter comeback etc......

The mavs were losing every playoffs...they had so much to proof and then had a chance to redeem themselves by destroying the reigning champs.

Sigh, its sad to say since I'm a Laker fan but this video is a proof that Kobe has majorly slowed down today. Back in 2005-2009 - his prime - he would burn the Mavs in every game (eg. 62 points through 3 quarters, this game, left handed 3, 52 points in '08, etc.) ....and now...he allows his team to get swept by the mavs in the playoffs....

@trimen51 im not comparing mj's shooting to kobe's shooting based off of one career game winning shot, i'm basing it off of shooting from their whole careers. mj was a more consistent shooter in terms of slightly making more of his shots than kobe has, but kobe is a better overall shooter. his tough shot making ability was better and his shot range was way better than jordan's.

@92plana um 94 mj was sucking at baseball. came back in 95 played less than half the season. comparing mj's fg% as a 38-40 year old to kobe, says a lot abour MJ doesn't it ;)

a year or 2 ago devin harris hit a game winner from half court... he must be a better shooter than both mj and kobe and more clutch =/ smh

@nitotech zones weren't allowed, yes, but some teams used them anyways. Mj was double, triple teamed for majority of his career. when he used to put up 37ppg it was so bad that opposing teams would literally quintuple him, the pistons went one step forward and created the jordan rules - "extreme physically & everyone can make a shot except mj"
