First movement. Actually, for this particular rendition, it's the Concerto for Trumpet, Bassoon and Piano Duet with Occasional Violin Solos Just Because. This piece is - how shall I put it? - a little obscure. Polyrhythm and polytonality abound. In fact, I'd say everyone's in divergent keys and/or meters about half the time. Most people will probably not find it musically accessible on the first listening. The more familiar I became with it, however, the more I came to love it.

  • I agree with your thoughts on the hindemith double concerto. I've heard alot of bad things about the hindemith bassooon sonata, but I've grown to like it after performing it.
