As we all know, lightning is one of the most unpredictable forces of our weather world. For many years, it was believed that Zeus was the Greek god of sky and weather. As time went on, our understanding of the weather improved. From our old friend Aristotle laying out some of the basics of weather to the formation of the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration in 1970 to the creation of the Fujita Scale in 1978 to the development of the Enhanced Fujita Scale in 2007, we have come a long way. Our knowledge of weather is so advanced beyond words, but we are still learning more daily. As you watch this video, you get to see one of the more unpredictable forces of nature at its greatest, lightning. You can never be 100% safe, but you can better protect yourself. Don't stand near metallic items, such as building stuctures, light poles or even barbed wire fences. Avoid open fields, tall objects, higher elevations, and try avoiding the gas stations during thunderstorms. It is possible to be struck in your house or anywhere for that matter. However, your odds of being struck will vary by location and surroundings. Now for the actual video description. The letters "SD" let you know that the videohas been slowed down for your viewing pleasure. This video is devoted to the memory of Matt Hughes, storm chaser and meteorologist for Storm Chasers on Discovery Channel. Matt has inspired so many, such as myself, that if you want something, go after it with all your heart. We all miss him and will take him with us every chase and every forecast. Matt, protect us and stay strong. Your gone, but will never be forgotten. Thank you to all meteorologists and the work you do to better protect your local community. Thank you to all storm chasers for helping to get more up to the minute to all media sources. Thank you all fans of Justin's Wild Weather Adventure for your dedicated support and encouragement. You are the reason I storm chase and desire to learn more. Thank you to my mom and grandpa for believing in me and putting up with me, I don't know how you do it. Thank you to my church, New Beginnings UPC, for praying for me and guiding me in the right direction. Thank you weather for being so amazing and fabulous. As I learn you, I will share the knowledge with the rest of the world. Hope you all have a wonderful New Year and thank you so much for your interest in Justin's Wild Weather Adventure (c), Where Learning Is AN Adventure (c). (All footage was recorded in Italy and/ or the United States)
