Mother Nature made UCF fans' first day at the new Bright House Stadium even more memorable.
Neither lightning, nor rain, nor soaring temperatures could dampen fans' pride in their new home, WESH 2 News reported.
The weather was extreme, the game was extremely close and the Knights earned the respect of their hometown fans during UCF's first home opener.
"I'm proud of this team," fan Troy Antonio said.
The game didn't start until 3:30 p.m., but that didn't prevent fans from coming early to kick off the partying. The celebration did turn sour for some fans as the heat got the best of them.
