  • That sir sure is simply amazing. Thanks a lot. I will try that settings with my Trackstar, but since its a clone of MMM, and you already have tested them, I don't expect it to be as smooth as this. Many Thanks once again for all the clarifications.

  • @nabilgravityoxygen OK, a video of this driving over some wood with the sensorcable unplugged. The Xerun is smooth, but there is some cogging at the slowest speed. The video is about as slow as it can go without it. The key is setting the punch and motor timing very low in the ESC setup. Will reduce topspeed though. You can do the same with the MM but it will still give more punch even at the lowest setting. To give some idea this setup does not lift the Summits frontwheels at full power start.

  • Just saw you other video, and it sure looks the smoothest of all esc. Thanks a bunch. I will go home and make of video of the Trackstar in my summit to share and compare.

Going further, can you please make a video of it climbing on an object in sensorless mode, just like CarrefourEstrien has in this video. He has literally ZERO cogging in sensorless mode. Thanks.

  • @nabilgravityoxygen Made a video with the sensorcable unplugged, not much difference.

  • @hanswiegers If it is really that smooth in sensorless mode, i don't think we need sensored systems any more.

  • @hanswiegers This particular video mentions that it is a sensorless system, and there is literally no cogging on the initial startup. Now that is just not theoretically possible since the sensorless system is unaware of the rotor location and coggs till it gets into sync. I am no expert in this area, just trying to learn, and the video and description simply does not match what I have learned till now, and that is why I am investigating further.

  • @hanswiegers I just saw you video and you are running sensored system. If possible, can you please unplug the sensor cable and check how smooth is it? Perhaps make a video to share with us as well.

  • @nabilgravityoxygen Sorry but you are wrong. This ESC is smoother then the Mamba Monster (own them both).

Please be aware that the Summit has high and low gear, he's probably running it in low with the stock 14/65T pinion/spur on 4S lipo. If you then set the motor timing and burst low this system is very smooth. I made a quick video running that on a table.

  • No, i have a brushed system, but I'm thinking if getting brushless. I don't know which one, but turnigy trackstar esc and trackstar 1:8 motor is a tempting alternative!

  • @kyrkbymannen Do you have a sensorless brushless system in any of your car? Try driving it as slow as possible and then watch this one video again. The smoothest of all sensorless brushless that I know off is Mamba Monster, and that is not even close to what I see here. The above is theoretically not possible, unless I am wrong.
