After all the area was called the land of Canaan and, as I said, Hebrew is labeled by scholars as a Canaanite language, and it makes sense many Canaanites would have been absorbed as part of the expanding Hebrew tribes. @QUINTUSMAXIMUS That is incorrect, as the Canaanites were still nothing more than tribal nomads who inhabited the north western region of modern day Israel. You might have heard of Judah, which was an independent state which broke off from Israel. Israel itself was founded when Israeli nomads decided to settle down due to raids and loss of natural resources. Judah through King David established the site of Jerusalem as the capitol. There was never a true freeze. Netanyahu acts like Israel deserve a reward for a cooling of construction, not a freeze. Anything approved before the freezing continues. There cannot be peace as long as Palestinians occupy and claim Jerusalem (the ancient capital built by Israeli people who lived in Judah), the Temple Mount which is occupied by Islam, which stands over the ruins of Israel's most sacred temple and finally, changes need to be made within Israel itself to ensure the Law will jail their own leaders if broken. Palestinians should get the north west corner of Israel which was the land of the Canaanites, or they can go back to Jordan.
