Karin TarQwyn Tracking Celsey Aug 15, 2010.mpg

My miniature dachshund, Celsey, disappeared from my back yard Tues., Aug. 3, 2010. I hired Karin TarQwyn, private investigator and missing pet specialist, to profile Celsey and give me the tools I need to find Celsey. Karin produces Lost Dog signs and advises me where to place the signs for the best coverage. Celsey is an excellent rabbit hunter and probably left my yard looking for rabbits. For whatever reason, she got too far away and got lost. Karin was passing through my city on her way home from another job and stopped by with 4 of her dogs to track Celsey. The dogs are trained to find lost dogs and cats. Some follow specific tracks while others can air scent and pick up general locations of pets even though the tracks are days old. Celsey had been gone for 1 1/2 weeks when this video was shot. We started in my back yard, and her lab, Cade, led us out of the yard, heading west. Next we took him to a creek where I had had my only reported sighting of her. Two of her dogs picked up Celsey's scent heading east. We stopped at another location along the creek, and the dogs continued to pick it up heading east. This video was shot at the 3rd creek location. Cade started walking across the bridge but then picked up her scent and took off running. At the end of the bridge, he stopped to determine which direction to go. He makes his decision to head east. He's briefly distracted by something by the bridge but then heads to the creek. After looking west, he decides the scent is going east, and he turns and runs to the east. He did follow the scent behind the privacy fence, but we weren't able to go further there. At our next location, we discovered a smaller creek heading north. The same dog picked up her scent heading north in 2 different places, but then the creek goes underground, and we didn't know where to go after that. I have lots of signs posted for her and am putting up more today. Celsey is a small, 7 pound, black and tan smooth miniature dachshund. She will probably run if approached. She is probably staying hidden in peoples' back yards and may still be near the creek but at this point, I have to wait until someone sees her. Karin's web site is www.LostDogRewards.com.
