@Didymuss1 basically, what you need to learn is to be efficient about your resources (getting along with the mana regen from philo stone, and maybe glyphs). wasting 1000 gold on mana means you spent money worth 13 wards that you didn't buy, something a support can't allow early game. i even think using clarity is better than buying the tear, and clarity on a support is really the worst case scenario imo.

@Didymuss1 so, i kinda feel the urge to explain why this build sucks for supports. as a support, assuming you're supporting an ad carry that is skilled and takes every minion, you're not farming, so it's necessary to buy items that pay off (=gold/10 items). there is no way around the philo stone first and the heart of gold following up, since that is the only extra gold besides runes/masteries you can get. you must not fall behind, else you lose the game for your team. NO tear.

@ez45 Pro tip: That's support with a tear so there's no need to give her Blue, she can lane for longer and she's getting a Soul Shroud for an Aura of Cooldown and Mana regen
