THIS IS PRETTY MUCH THE IDEA OF HOW BISMUTH CRYSTALS ARE MADE,

HEAT BISMUTH UNTILL NICE AND MELTED, THEN LET COOL UNTILL IT HARDENS FROM THE OUT SIDE IN PART WAY. THEN DUMP OUT THE AXESS METAL. THEM YOU SHOULD HAVE A PATTERN OF METAL CRYSTALS THAT FORMED ON THE INSIDE.

  • Best trick is to melt the Bismuth on an electric pot heater. Allow it to cool very slowly using a thermometer to make sure it stays *just* above the melting point. Using a pair of tongs, touch a small piece of Bismuth to the surface and hold it there while dropping the temperature to *just* below the melting point. Then lift the metal bit out after a minute or two. If you do it right, you can get some fantastic looking shapes.

  • great, thanx for the tip!

  • its not worse, means it does emit radiation, but incredibly slowly, small amounts of radiation are ok

  • @myalisa78 a nature museum might have some.

  • Your camera is very blurry

  • @Xenosys to calrify, its halflife is in fact so long that its unlikely that any bismuth in the entire universe has ever emitted any radiation, it is only radioactive in principle.

  • @Xenosys try a half life of 10 to the power of 10. its radioactive like kesha is a musician. only by definition.

  • lol at "AXESS METAL" in the description box

  • Where do you get bismuth???? Ive looked for rods of it and cant find it!

  • @Xenosys small being the halflife of bismuth is longer than the age of the universe... lol

  • @darksideofthebrick13 Its half life is so long, 10e16 years, one atom a day might decompose. And its the only non-toxic heavy metal so it can and is used in medecine. If youve ever used pepto-bismol youve eaten bismuth.

  • @TheGarryModder it's an alpha emitter
