This a very heavy duty DC reduction drive motor unit. Sold as surplus from Allelectronics in Los Angeles. Originally it was for boat satellite. I rewired the 12vdc motors. It also has limit switchs. Elevation mtor gear speed is different then the azimuth motor drive. Its about the size of a small bowling ball and weather resistant. I had no problems moving a 18" dish.

  • Do you think I can find somewhere of this type in ALLELECTRONIC there?

  • @KI6JLD I bought this about 8 years ago and finally got around to modifying it recently. Sorry sold the last extra one I had and shipped it to a ham in the UK. If you ever see one like at TRW swap meet or on the internet grab it.

  • Galaxis space scanner, the original manufactures website is gone. Some blurbs on the Amsat mail list as many people saw it when it hit the surplus market. its a DSS satellite dish tracking unit. (dish network) The OEM website picture had it on a like a 32' boat.
