The Scion xB I recently purchased has a rattle in the front. I created this video to show the problem to the Toyota of Seattle service department. They had looked at the problem earlier and said it was running normally.
My 05 has the same noise. I hope it's something as simple as a rubber stopper. I purchased this car new in 05 but it's been nothing but a disappointed in the mechanical category....
OMG, kids today, just stuff rags in the high spots, till it stops rattling! o.O
LMAO I swear nobody knows how to fix anything any more, you are all doomed when the grid goes down! (the preceding rant may have a discernable bit of tongue-in-cheek wry humor)
yeah i would say the rubber stopers need to be adjusted on the left side. i believe if that isnt the case then there is a part loose holding the hood down.
What a dillweed, We have a 2005, and 2 2008 xb as well as a tC and an xD and only the 05' had this problem and it presented itself after about 3 months we brought it to the dealer and in 15 minutes we drove it home and never had the problem again. They said it was exactly what eveyone else here is saying. The hood was not adjusted or was knocked out of adjustment. I will go by the second one since it started right after being struck in the hood by a tree branch thanks to hurricane Wilma.
it's just a rubber stop for the hood. i have an 06 xB aswell and you just need to adjust the stops. the stops are not pre-adjusted for you when you buy the car and if you look closely at the front end of your xB or newer car for that fact, you'll notice your hood isn't balanced. just re-adjust the stops and it's fine.
