Usually all football clubs here have close connections with the orthodox church. Of course could not be exemption the football club "ethnikos" an "olympiakos".

Under of those circumstances the Creek "pagans" remain away of this comedy.

What a breath of fresh air to see the Hellenes practicing their true ancestral religion.

Makes me proud!! Maybe one day all foreign influences will cease to have a hold on the Hellenic soul.

I'm glad to see this happening, Greeks going back to their religion. The problem that seems to be going on here is the church doesn't want to share. There are other countries that are allowing their people to worship their ancestral religion with no problem. Greece needs to accept that this is happening and go with the flow and stop bothering these wonderful people.

My mother is christian but I've never felt comfortable with Christianity. Aside from not believing, its simply not the religion of our homeland. Its a religion forced on us by Romans (who forced it on all of Europe). I sincerely hope our ancient religion one day supersedes Christianity in Greece again. It will finally correct an ancient injustice. If other religions have a right to exist.... the ancient Greek religion should also have a place at the table.

As a Greek, I thank-you for your kind words. In my opinion, despite we call ourselves "x" a human being is assembled with bits and pieces of biology and culture from many sources. Pure racial conception of identity are nationalist myths (that unfortunately exist in every country to this day). What matters most is love of Greece (by trying to preserve genuine ancient Greek culture). If so, as far as I'm concerned at least part of you is Greek.

Today's Greek Christians have been strongest supporters of hellenism (much more so than say leftist atheist writers like DImou who is anti-Greek). That said, I blame Christiantity for the loss of our ancient religion too (technically the Romans did it but the Greek orthodox religion also oppresseed it too). I'm not religious but if I had to chose between the two religions I would choose our ancient one.

That woman uses the term "pagans" ...and doesn't know shit about it. The term pagani has been invented since 373 by christians in order to subordinate Greeks.It would be wise to know before you speak.I 'm proud to be GREEK and mourn the loss of Greek Civilization because of christian imperialism.

I think you need to learn some history, Christianity is Greece's (old way). We were killed, raped and decapitated for this religion by the Roman's, Ottoman's and many others. Going back to the Ancient ways would mean, slavery, nobility, aristocracy, caste systems would have to be back in place, if the old ways were better why did we abolish them?
