I know. It's kind of a shame to see that the only "tribute" he's been given in recent years is the Family Guy skit (sheesh, and I thought the show couldn't get any worse...).

i love rooney it broke my heart to see him cry on the stand talking about the elder abuse he recently has suffered for years. a legend like him should be treated with only respect
-
I believe thie is "Mickeys ' Menagerie" from 1929. I havs a very washed out copy from an old 8mm print of this., barely watchable.

i have been a fan of Mickey Rooney for so long. and is it weird that i am only 14.My favorite was his serise Andy Hardy, i also particularly loved his role in "Boys Town" with Spencer Tracey i love to watch these oldies. all these new movies they make now are just stupid.

@inkey2 yes, in face bob hope's wife is still alive...she's 101
-
if Rooney had been just a little taller you can just imagine all the roles he could have nabbed.........back then leading men were at least average height.......with only a few exceptions....like bogey and Alan Ladd
-
@avalanchesuperstar wow.....it seems that a few of these old time big talants lived to be pretty old.....George Burnes, Bob Hope......
-
@inkey2 fuck yeah! mickey rooneys alive and well. hes not one of those old people always getting sick. hes still active and pretty fit.
-
@inkey2 Yep that's him as a very little boy. He did a bunch of Mickey McGuire films before he became famous for Andy Hardy.

@inkey2 mickey rooney holds the record for cinema actors at 84 years. He has acting roles in movies that are set come out in 2011 as well.

no, your are just very prejudiced against real talent and also are too stupid to know it when you see it.

The Mickey McGuire short film series was produced from 1927-1934. There were 62 two reel films made altogether. The first 24 were silent films and the rest were talkies. The films were produced by Larry Darmour and based on characters in the Toonerville Trolley comic strip by Fontaine Fox.
These were the most successful kid comedies competing against Hal Roach's Our Gang (Little Rascals) kid comedies.
Mickey Rooney usually played McGuire but Marvin Stephens also played McGuire in a few.
