A short lesson that covers the concept and application of finger independence as it applies to guitar. Unfortunately, you have to practice to get good at it.

My favourite exercises for this kind of thing are here as gp4 files. If you don't have Guitar Pro use Tuxguitar - http://www.mediafire.com/?nzwmwzuyg5m

(Alternate pick them or use hammers from nowhere for a serious challenge!)

  • hey i was the guy you helped earlier on ultimate guitar by prescribing this video.. ive spent a good 1-2 hours today just doing finger independence exercises and i can already see my technique improving and becoming more economic.. thank you and a very helpful video

  • @halldrummerboy3 No probs man, pay it forward when you can. ^_^

  • While I think this lesson is valuable...I also think we all need to consider that we are all human, we are going to make mistakes. We shouldn't strive to play the guitar like a machine would, with perfect precision and zero error. We should all play the guitar the way we feel comfortable. If you roll your wrist a little bit, so what, it's not a big deal. Why are we all trying to aim for perfection? Just have fun playing music and don't worry about it so much.

  • @Pprovo1 We're not all trying to aim for perfection, but sometimes we all seek a little improvement. Obviously a healthy attitude to music AND practice is what's required. :)
