Organ pipes can be made with different materials. Made some good sounding pipes with paper and thin white glue. Roll paper around a wood dowel to achieve about 1/16" thickness or more. You sound like a artistic and creative person. I know you will find your stuff.

I was walking in lumber stack's today pondering how non- difficult this might be considering the amount of stock that is fairly close to the size required to make the sound pipe. I assume there is a reed or something at the base of each of these sound tubes??/ thinking of building something nice for my little dog & pony circus. probably going to be gilded with gold lear and colors like the old steam caliopes. might cheat a little on the weight issue and use some fiber glass and angle iron.

I certainly agree with your remarks. In the hobby shop most of the model airplanes are ready made. Kids need to learn the basics skills with balsa wood and tissue covering. THE OLD FASHION WAY! Thanks. BobH

Just finished mine the other day. Still working out the little bugs during it's
playing in" period. Wind is still less stable than I'd like.
I'll look at your 90-degree handle arrangement; I need to get it to smooth out a little and I'm still hunting down some air leaks and little mechanical issues.

@dbjarrett There is always fine adjustments and tuning to do. I had to adjust the eccentric gear just a little to get a smoother crank cycle. The 90 degree cranks help me a lot.

oh my, are those separate cranks for the bellow and the roll?

@drumstyx6464 Yes, 90 degrees apart. Makes cranking easier for me.
