Tigers have always been hunted for their precious fur that somehow some of mankind still believes they need. Valued at ten thousand U.S. dollars for a single tiger skin, its a wonder how any of these animals have survived mankinds suffocating grasp on them. In India, despite the efforts being made by the Wildlife Protection of India and the local government, poachers and traders are still killing these endangered big cats. Poachers, while the actual killers of the animal, seems like the main problem, traders are the source of the crisis. Traders and poachers operate amongst one another, the traders selling poison for a little over a dollar and steel traps for around nine. This enables the poachers to kill the tigers and other animals more easily and affordably. Some easier ways that the poachers have been killing the tigers are trapping them in steel traps, one recorded as being so strong that six men had to pull it apart, poison in the carcasses of cows, and poison in watering holes, killing anything that drinks from it. Going back to the traders, by using poison instead of guns, the skin is worth more because it is intact, bringing the poachers in more cash. Following this the traders will sell the tigers fur mainly to the Chinese, their biggest buyer. The Chinese require not only the tiger skin but tiger bone, for anything from medicine to fur coats. The tiger bone is ground into a fine powder and made into tiger bone pills. China had to turn towards India to get these materials because in mid-1980 the Chinese drove their own tiger population to the verge of extinction. Because of Chinas want for the tiger skin and bones, traders deals on killing methods and poachers willing to make some quick cash, Indias tiger population has declined greatly.

The Environmental Intelligence Agency (EIA) recently conducted an investigation into the Chinese black market trade in tiger parts, which is not so black market as tiger parts are openly sold in markets all over China.

It has been three years since the last CITES, and still the Chinese are operating their gruesome tiger farms!

With China in control of and access to endangered animals, they are as good as dead!

I thought tiger hunting was illegal period. I mean if it was gonna attack you i would understand but hunting and poaching should be illegal!! They should have wildlife soldiers that go to war against poachers and shoot them for fun and feed them alive to the animals and see how they feel

Everyone keeps blaming the poachers, why not the people who buy from the poachers? Poachers don't use/ consume the animals they poached, it's the Chinese for the stupid beliefs in tiger parts medicinal uses, it's those  famous fashion designers that we might be supporting... Think about it, people!
