@astroroadsign Not according to the ratings. Dave however, had an expiration date of about 1995. Then he turned to "Hey Paul! You know what would be HILARIOUS! Let's see if this floats in water and then bring out two BUTT UGLY "models" to use an angle grinder on their metal clothing and send sparks flying!"

@hgates101 what an embarrassment YOU are. You don't even understand the general concept of bitching about Leno. Even the biggest whiners about him don't call him scripted because of ALL the late night hosts EVER, it is well accepted that Leno is the MOST involved in the writing.

@jrzy49 He hasn't changed...you just became a whiner about him.
If you want to see someone who has changed...compare DAVE now to Dave then. The only way Dave gets laughs now is from the applause sign and with stupid things that Dave used to MOCK his Late Night audience for laughing at by saying "You people are just STARVED for attention!." But now he laps it up because that is all he gets.
Dave...like Conan...we not made for 11:30.

This is the real Leno, genuinely funny, witty and full of energy. Sad how much he has changed over the years.

@Telkandore that's not saying much, seeing as he's completely robotic, scripted, and totally unfunny throughout this whole shit-barf clip. Kudos to you though dude for lovin' it........9/11

It's nice to see old friends be good friends. I hope these two can bury the hatched 1 day.

i wish i was around to see jay in his prime. this was filmed 6 years before i was born. jay is so different now. :(

Whoa Jay how long did you prepare for this one??? So scripted....

This WAS in 1984. Jay mentioned the Magnum P.I. episode about a lady and her evil twin. That was Sharon Stone. She (and her evil twin) appeared in two consecutive weeks (a two-part episode, yes--a TWIN episode) that appeared in Season 5, Episodes 1 and 2, and the first one showed on 27 September 1984.

Some people have a limited shelf life, and Jay's was probably for about five years.

The name of the Magnum P.I. episode is "Echoes of the Mind", and the doppelganger is played by Sharon Stone. Which means that this episode of David Letterman is from September of 1984.
