  • Cities and Knights is an incredible expansion to Settlers if you ask me. It surprises me that so many are writing it off without ever trying it. I suppose if you don't like in-depth strategy then it wouldn't be for you, but I love it!

  • Cities and Knights was indimidating at first, but once you play the game once, it's incredibly fun!

I look back on the basic game, and though it's fun and simplistic, it's really quite boring considering the limitation on what you can do.

    Great review, by the way!

  • wait a sec....wasent he saying that he HATEs this expansion in the priviouse video?

  • This reminded me of the AVGN, and that's a good thing!

  • @trez337 my buds and i are big into board gmaes and weve played a 7 hour game of monopoly

  • Whenever I play Cities and Knights, I usually have the barbarian ship move twice as far through it's little course before invading.

Not only does this bring the game down to about an hour and a half instead of 2 or 3, but it also gets rid of that feeling of helplessness you were talking about.

Cities and knights is a great expansion, but I think Traders and Barbarians does it better.

  • at least it doesn't last 5 hours like Monopoly.

  • @kikinda2000 You absolutely need the original game, Cities and Knights is unplayable without it.

  • Can you play this expansion pack without having the original Catan ? I want to buy only the expansion, but I want to know is it a standalone game or do I need some pieces from the original ? Thank You

  • yes the learning curve for cities and knights is higher than the original, but so what what: the original is as easy as candyland. once you get the hang of cities and knights theres no going back.

consider them two different games, appealing to two different types of players. maybe that will help.

    cities and knights is *awesome*.

  • those barbarians reminds me off the all so anoying barbarians in civlication 4 that captures my cities and i lose:(

  • this looks like civilication in bourd game
