**Please watch in HD**

2/4/2009 Turn up the volume!! Norfolk Southern Coal Train NS506 heads southbound in a snowstorm to the Deepwater plant on the Vineland Secondary. Video was shot in Woodbury NJ with Norfolk Southern SD70M-2 #2679 leading. The lead engine featured a very loud and awesome sounding K5LLA, one of the loudest I've ever heard.

Thanks for watching, please take a second to comment and rate...I appreciate it! Thanks!

  • That is one long train!!!

  • that is a beautiful horn

  • That horn is my alarm in the morning.

  • This is still as awesome as the first time I viewed it!

I just heard a train go through Bucyrus, Ohio and the horn was so loud at every street as it passed through town it reminded me of this. A distant train buff but more into antique phones. But the lure of the rails is fascinating.

If you don't like this, don't watch? Let others enjoy it and keep yourself from this nagging comments please.

    I love it though ! ! !

I'm from Holland and was lucky to go to Mobile Alabama last year. I had to work at the dry docks which was next to a railway. There was a train aproaching so I walked towards the track. While I had my wife on the phone, I had the engineer blasts its K5LA ! What a sound, I love it. And I am the only one in the Netherlands owning one.....

  • nice vid

  • You don't know absolutely for sure that there's a K5LLA on that lead unit. You didn't go up to it and actually look....you just think it's a K5LLA. That lead unit could have had another horn installed on it after the unit was delivered to NS.

  • I stopped it at :03 and it's beautiful. Then the red lights come on as the train rounds the bend and the crossing guards come down. And then you see it snow. I see your footsteps in the snow as you pan back across the street. You see the 5 white stripes on the engine right before it crosses the road. Long train. It goes on and on and on and on. Are you cold yet? And noisy. Finally the end and NO caboose. This is really gorgeous.

  • @216252lou Cause it's going places and we see it for an instant but hear it all the way thru town and then it's gone.

  • you rail buffs kill me Whats so great about a train whistle? And the footage its just a rail crossing. .................THE SNOW IS COOL THOUGH...It remindes me that its time too got out on the road.
