Singer Youngman has finally realised his musical roots. With the help of his father, drum and bass impresario Bassline Smith, Simon developed a fascination with music culture early enough to join the Music Societies College Youth Theatre & Choir Program and subsequently perform at some of the UK's most prestigious concert halls. From there he began to leave a vocal impression MCing over jungle riddims across Midlands' grime clubs before travelling to London and collaborating with dubstep heros Skream and Benga.
But it was always R&B that gripped him. He recalls, at age 10, being in absolute awe of Usher performing live and his subversive R&B collection. Now, with the help of Shy FX's label Digital Soundboy, he has stretched his vocals for his Skream-produced debut single 'Who Knows?' as a precursor to a debut album in 2012.
We were invited to the Digital Soundboy offices for a personable first-hand encounter with this emotive young talent, where he expressed his feelings towards the track.
