Procreation: Gift or Burden?

Do subconscious biological and societal pressures compel us to have children? Do parents properly account the great sacrifices which must be made to raise spiritually healthy children? Our motivations are a good indicator if having children will be a gift or burden.

Steve.....please let me tell you something that you probably already know. The female (us) are programmed (whatever that means)to want to HAVE A BABY. This is a biological force. For most of us it is very difficult to ignore, these are interesting times. Peace & Love

In modern times our biological programming no longer applies. Back in the day you needed children to survive. Today this isn't the case.

I totally agree, you do not need to marry. However, today we have lessor people who maintain moral and social values. There are also less than 1% honest people now. Many are greedy and selfish.Therefore we cannot say that societies and humans are "better" than before.I believe that if there was a family (Either Children or a group of people)people could interact with on a daily basis, they will be more human and have values. It is a lack of caring for other humans that has destroyed the world.

I am neither ready nor willing to do all it takes to raise a truly healthy human within this society. People seem to find this so confusing (like many of my choices), while they and their children stress and suffer...

@maryswilde Mary, let me tell you something. The females (us) are programmed by the government, and society to want to HAVE A BABY. It is a psychological force. For most of us, it's very difficult to ignore with the dirty air & food, fluoride treatments, the television, and music at 440hz that calcifies our brains. I have a healthy body, a working vagina, and I don't ever want to have a baby. Peace & Love

You never need to complete a marriage with children. Regardless of pro life issues and the catholic church thing, future parents needs to plan a family and also limited to what they could afford. Pro life and Catholic are not being realistic as many can not afford too many children and also health risk and also being metally prepaired.

@maryswilde I should hope that people making babies could apply a bit more consciousness rather than animal instinct. there is a lot at stake. I am a woman, and have no desire whatsoever to have a baby, never have. Lots of women don't, we realize there is more to life than that.
