When audience members at recent Republican presidential debates cheered executing 234 people in Texas and letting the uninsured die from lack of medical care, it raised questions about the hypocrisy of conservative Christians and small government Tea Party libertarians in the Republican Party as I show in this video.

The clips I use of Bill Maher come from HBO's September 16, 2011, broadcast of "Real Time with Bill Maher", longer clips of which are currently available on YouTube at http://bit.ly/p3NUCa and at http://bit.ly/oPFlwJ

The clip I use of Brian Williams asking Gov Rick Perry about his 234 executions in Texas comes from MSNBC's September 7, 2011, broadcast of the "GOP Debate at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library" available online at http://on.msnbc.com/qeq8po

The clip I use of Wolf Blitzer and Texas Rep. Ron Paul discussing the uninsured comes from CNN's September 12, 2011, broadcast of the "CNN Tea Party Republican Debate" available online at http://bit.ly/oQLTDa

The clips I use of Stephen Colbert come from a longer segment of the September 13, 2011, broadcast of "The Colbert Report" available online at http://bit.ly/ReaperVP

  • @wulfyn99

Food stamps are how Americans nationalize food.

Also by your own numbers you say that the NHS costs "far less than the cost of insurance", so wouldn't that be an argument for nationalized health care (your first paragraph seems to be opposed to it)

  • @NecroniKDrummer89 He also rejects global warming. What I'm most concerned about is that he does not "believe" in evolution. That simply makes him stupid... no, insane. And being insane affects all of his thinking/decisions. Even IF he wants to be a good person and not a warmonger unlike the other candidates.

  • Jesus said that "an eye for an eye" was outdated. He reinforced the "turn the other cheek" ideology. Cheering for the death-penalty or anything like it is spiteful, vengeful and anti-Christian.

Whether the death penalty is necessary or not it should not be cheered or applauded if you proclaim yourself to be a follower of Christ.

  • @Android602715 And the feds didnt send him to death, the jury/judge did!

  • Ur comment about it being a hypocricy of rep wanting smaller govt but having gov't decide death penalties is completely false because states decide death penalty requirements and whether to have the at all. Its the states right to decide its local policies, we dont want gov't intruding on our rites and lives, the states r allowed to run themselves Nd their policies on criminal punishment according to amendment 10:)

  • Its funny how you cut the video off of ron paul rite as he was about to:1)denounce the people cheering.2) show the reason it is a key issue is not that everyone HAST to be covered, but that it is the cost w/ all the gov't regulation and such that drive up the price to where not every1 can afford it. Common liberal ideolog doesnt show the whole truthlol.

  • How many books containing useful, informative or enlightning information were written by conservatives? (i'm done commenting)

  • It's much like communism; why should someone who works a harder job get the same pay as someone who works much less. I am not saying people deserve to die or that anyone is pushing communism, but there comes a point when benefits should go to those who worked for it.

  • Wait, hold on a minute. I am generally bi-partisan but this is going a little far to the left. I don't think the audience was cheering on the death penalty but cheering against Rick Perry from what I saw. Also, I don't think that someone who did not prepare and take the necessary measures for his health should be able to take away from others who did.

  • Lol at Trojan add

  • One of the benefits of the Australian political systems is that we strike a (not perfect) balance between socialism and capitalism. If you lack private health insurance, the government will offer support, the healthcare reform is like debates of the rights of other cultures, there is no reason not to accept it and it is opposed by morons who go home and sleep on piles of money,

  • @tontsa911 Obviously global warming exists, but it's not entirely man manufactured (just research the dramatic climatic history of the earth), nor really an issue at the moment. Here in Australia, the government doesn't really believe in any of that green stuff, it's just an excuse for further taxation (i.e. extortion). As soon as the Carbon Tax came in, the incumbent party's respective salaries went up. And you can't expect it to be a legitimate thing if the Rothschilds support it, can you?
