"How long have you've been friends with Demi?" Selena was chipping her nails as she asked.


"Like a year, maybe two," Nick replied. He leaned on the counter that carried the precious decorations and looked over to her. "Why?"


"Oh, I'm just curious," she replied, her hand floating down to her side. "What is the coincidence that she's a cop?"


"A big one, but she did wanted to be in the 'Serve & Protect' department thing," he pointed out. "She had this huge passion about helping people out."


"Well that's good, right?" she shook her head. "Yeah, of course it's good."


"Look, Selena don't worry. If she ever finds out, I'll find a way to convince her. She's my best friend and she'll probably understand," Nick simply replied.


"Yeah, I'm not worried."


"Huh?"


"I'm worried about you," Selena giggled softly. "You're like really overprotected of me and yeah."


"Me? Overprotect you? Pfft," he scoffed. He glanced over to her and her brow was raised. "Okay, maybe I am like that . . ."


"Nick, you are like that, but it's cool. I like it," she formed the cutest smile that made Nick's heart warm. "But it can get annoying." He threw her a quick glare and a small growl. "I'm just saying."


"Yeah, yeah, whatever," he rolled his eyes. "I'm sorry for caring."


"Like I said before, I like it that you care and it kind of makes me feel special," Selena's cheeks turned red and started to feel warm. She stood up and walked beside of Nick.


"I make you feel special?" his lips curved into a devious smirk and stepped closer to her.


She felt his hot breath crash onto her skin that made her shiver. Selena looked down at his lips and bit her own. "Yeah . . ."


"Well then," he leaned closer and closer until their lips were only inches apart. But suddenly, Selena pulled away making Nick stumble.


"I'm going in the room," she simply said, but as she walked to the door, she stopped and flashed a small smirk and wink.
