Situated on the far eastern corner of the county of Fife, the village of Crail has one of the most picturesque harbours in the whole of Scotland. When Robert Stevenson extended the harbour in the 1820's he would never have imagined that his work would eventualy become one of the most painted and photographed harbours in the country. Medieval Dutch and Flemish influence can be clearly seen in the crow step gables and red pan tiled roofs of the fishermens houses.

  • Very picturesque indeed!

Crail also achieved fame as the location for a 'Ball Lightning' incident in the 1960s, I believe.
