This whole U.K. vs U.S. thing is a bit ridiculous. Both shows were made by the same person. After the success of the U.K. version, the creator tried his luck with a U.S. adaption.

All these conversions of UK shows are kinda racist! Why do a large % of American audiences only want to watch shows of other Americans? It's like the 50's when they used to paint white people black because they felt audiences wouldn't accept real black people on TV.

@jamokae263 this show has been around for a long time, and people that watched the UK version have become emotionally attached to the original charecters because they offered something completely different, and real to the table. And england doesnt sugar-coat stuff they get away with alot more than america. this skins came out almost identical to the original and the bad acting and thats what set people off, because the actors were'nt really feeling it.

I REALLY wanted to love the MTV version. It kind of turned into a massive disapointment for me save for a few shining lights being CADIE, MICHELLE, and DAISY - hands down the best actors, with the most effective episodes. Everything else was just wrong. Like Chris. After his episode 95% of the time he WAS JUST A DOUCHEBAG. Tea's a cool chick, but her "woe is me, nobody matches me" BS got old + her & Tony's character's development stalled after ep 4. & stanley...ugh.. don't get me started...
