This is certainly a good gore film, but it doesn't redefine the genre.

i dont think battle royale is at all the same as this movie maybe the girl but other then that the plots are complitely differnt

@Darknessmanga The plots are completely ridiculous, but that girl was pretty much exactly the same character. She wasn't really necessary to the plot of TGP at all, so I don't think she should have been in the movie.

A very savvy and astute review of TGP. It's more enjoyable than most of this type (e.g. Meatball Machine), but does lack substance. I really enjoy your reviews.

That's a cool review, I found this movie not that original too, yet inspiring somehow. I am not a real fun of gore though. The way society is presented in this movie is surely way more interesting than the gore, at least that's what I think. I usually prefere the way Carpenter criticizes society rather than this way. Have you or has anyone here watched the Machine girl?It's about revenge too. Japanese people love that topic. I agree with Non Stop Tokyo, this is not that original anyways!
