Very sad to see a duckling in an oil spill. The oil will cause his waterproofing to disappear, which means the cold water will penetrate his feathers. His temperature will drop to a subnormal level and he will be chilled. The oil will burn his delicate skin and his eyes. Ingesting this oil will make him hemorrhage inside.
This poor little guy had a slow and painful death. :(
