Karpiel is nice but the fct ofthe matter is you dont need any more thne 8 or 9 inches at MOST, coupled up with a good design to produce a world cup winning race bike. Most pro bikes you see at UCI races weigh no more then 45lbs at most. Alot of them being under 40lbs...

will extremly heavy downhill bike like 60lbs slow you down on downhill courses or will it be better. Are people going for lighter dowhill bike these days or what. if the course does not have massive huge drops is 60lb bike gonna be overkill. would a santacruz v10 be faster. I like the sound of 12 inches of travel.
