When we saw this at the theater my lil brothers hated this cause it didn't have action in it like they thought(lol) My dad fell asleep and my mom was complaining that the king looked too handsome because she always pictured him looking disgusting because of ....well basically what I said already. My lil bros kept on saying "why have you beguiled me" all day as a catchphrase, crackin me up XD

wow, this was a while ago, but i somehow missed that you replied.
yes the king is from susa and hes being wry.
also, in the Bible, the pharisees couldnt believe Jesus was from God because 'nothing good comes out of galilee' or, more accurately 'no prophet comes from galilee.'
its a Christian movie, thats why i made the association.

Thank you for explaining. I have to ask, how do you define "Christian movie" because by some definition you could be right and by other definitons i might disagree.

in THIS instance i mean that the story comes straight from the Christian Bible, however, i might refer to another movie as being Christian because it blatantly promotes Christian values in a Christian setting (see Veggietales) :D oh how technical life can be...lol

Now that I know what you mean I have to disagree with you a little bit. The book of Esther is part of the Jewish bible and It occurs before the birth of Jesus. I know Jews and Christians have mostly the same Bible in the pre-Jesus era so at least you can't say it's an exclusively Christian movie. More accurately it's a Judeo-Christian movie. Although i've never heard of a christian celebrating Purim.
