The country had roughly 56,300 new HIV infections in 2006. an increase of about 16,000. (August 4)[Notes:ANCHOR VOICE] There is troubling news in the fight against H-I-V and AIDS in this country. More people are infected now than researchers first thought.SOT: Our new estimate shows that the epidemic is and has been worse than we previously knew. New technology is allowing doctors to measure a specific H-I-V antibody in the blood, which can determine if a person has been infected in the past five months. SOT: We now know that HIV infections were never as low as forty thousand per year. We estimate that about fifty thousand infections occurred per year in the early 1990's. In 2006, that number jumped to more than 56 thousand infections. 53 percent of new cases occurred among homosexual men. 45 percent among African Americans. SOT: these estimates are a wake up call for us all. We need to to more as individuals communities and as a nation to increase testing and also increase prevention efforts Doctors estimate there are one million people living with H-I-V in the United States. 25 percent of those people do not know they are infected. anyway, its RARE that u get aids cos of unrprotected sexual relations, cos the probability of getting aids if u are a man is 0,001 per sexual relation.. there are more factors (drugs, being black, etc etc)

nowaday the true way of transmition, is a misterious, even people think its obvious :)

@KyleAlex92 On the CDC website it sites 54% of homosexuals and 24% among blacks with homosexuals being the fastest group of people (regardless of race) catching/spreading HIV/AIDS.

Well personally. i know white friends that have been infected by the virus. I'm african american and get tested every3 months and negative of HIV/Aids and everything else. Its about education, self awareness, and refusing to be ignorant.
