Tune: Rustington by C.H.H.Parry. I think these words fit this tune very well and it makes a nice change from the usual Marching by Martin Shaw, or St Oswald by Rev. J.B.Dykes. This is one of Parry's less well known hymn tunes, the best known are probably Jerusalem and Repton (Dear Lord and Father of Mankind). Rustingon is a village near Littlehampton in West Sussex where the composer lived for nearly 40 years until his death in 1918. I have recorded the sound independently of the vision this time, so hopefully the sound quality should be better than on earlier videos.

  • Outstanding - I wish this tune were used more often. It sounds especially wonderful with 'Sing we of the blessed mother'. 5*

  • @johnjallison It's a cracking tune certainly. I guess there are several hymns that would fit this tune well. I'm kind of trying to get it used more often! Thanks for the feedback.
