Keith creates stream-of-consciousness improvisations after going through the piece once. This rag was composed in 1989 by our late friend Gil Lieberknecht.
This performance is from the 2011 Sutter Creek Ragtime Festival. http://www.suttercreekragtime.com
The opening of the rag is meant to have audience participation, but as you can hear, at first the audience had a bit of rhythm trouble!
Wow.
Thank you once more for posting.

This guy's playing makes me feel old, and I'm only 20. Great performance and a great tune. I love all of Gil Lieby's compositions that I've had the privilege to hear. Can't wait until a folio of his work is available.

It's amazing how as people grow older, their musicality never fades =)

That is great Ron.......I saw Keith play this having NEVER heard it before about 11 or so years ago in SUTTER CREEK at the evening concert in the old TOWN HALL and sweating, so hot!!......I think the last year before going to the theater?? He announced he would play it in ALL 12 key changes and did that 3rd section that night.........I favorited it.........Thanks for posting........VBR

The opening reminds me of Galen Wilkes' SEDALIA STOMP in the sence that it has the audience participation.
Very nice rag. Keith played it very nicely. I wish I could've been there to see him play it live!!! Maybe this summer, I'm hoping!
