Channel 7 Eyewitness News (WABC-TV) Correspondent Roger Sharp interviews Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass., the day before the March 25, 1980, New York Democratic Presidential Primary in which Kennedy defeated President Jimmy Carter 59%-41%.

Five years after this interview, when Sharp was battling cancer, Sen. Kennedy sent him a kind letter that meant a lot to our family: http://twitpic.com/gn1wy

  • The greatest President who never was.

  • What a pile of shit ted kennedy was. Glad that asswipe is dead. good fucking riddance.

  • I think Bobby or Ted would have made a better president than Jack. Jack brought a new kind of hope for a better life (uncompleted), but Bobby would have rebuilt a nation that was divided and mistrustful of its government while getting back on track up Jack's unfinished business (but making lots of enemies in the process). However, Ted would have fulfilled his brothers' dreams. He was better in dealing with slow government red-tape, as well as handling senators and houses.

  • I Belive This Was WABC-TV's Channel 7 Eyewitness News At 6's Report On Interview With Sen. Ted Kennedy Before The 1980 New York Primary On Monday Evening, March 24, 1980.

  • Ted won BOTH NY & CT on the same day........Carter was doomed..thank god

  • Price Freeze the same thing as Price Control. The way to lower prices is to open up new markets for American Products and bring in more competition for people to choose.

  • Ted won this Primary.

  • Teddy was no Jack Kennedy

  • The "Price Freeze" is another word for Price Controls, it didn't work in the Nixon Administration & it wouldn't of worked in the Late 70's-Early 80's as well. The reason why Ted Kennedy ran an unaspiring campaign for President in 1980 is because he really didn't want to run for President, he did out of some warped obligation he thought he had to his family & to his brother's name to carry on their legacy.
