  • @blugularis is very similar, but it's the only jissen karate that is not an offshot of kyokushin, even if their competition has a strong influence from it.

  • looks much like Enshin karate or Ashihara

  • Byakuren is indeed a offshot from shorinji kempo, but it has been heavily influenced by kyokushin.

    Today it is much closer in both technique, movement patterns and tactics to kyokushin than to shorinji kempo.

    Similar rules breed similar fighting style, and byakuren rules are more or less straihgt copies of kyokushin rules. Not to mention that there are a lot of cooperation between the two styles.

  • and byakurenkai has nothing to do with kyokushin. the nature of each technique is very influenced by shorinji

  • i red that sugihara made part of the doshin so best students. however after the death of the foundator, shorinji became more and more a "soft" or non deadly discipline, with the daughter of doshin so. that's why sugihara wanted to develop is own style
