  • As I mentioned in the first comment...The replacement checked out good (another GMPP). The engine has only about 1,500 miles so far but all is good.

  • I was told the GM Perf unit mostly consisted of Cloyes pieces then GM "finished the set". My replacement worked good. Also the GM tech staff said they had never seen this!?

  • yeah this is a brand new defective chain set from GM Performance. This is the "extreme duty" chain set. They finaly warenteed it(never ran)

  • @ACHEESEDANISH00 ya but this is a brand new set.

  • oh thats nothing my pontiac with 273k miles would go in like 3 inches

  • Did you mean slap?

  • Wow that sucks I guess they have bad QC. I went with progear with my setup, but I am running an electric water pump.

  • i had same issue i ended up reusing my old gears

  • Just what i needed .im at this job as we speak.

  • get a double roller timming chain there only 4 dollars more

  • my engine has about the same amount of deflection on the chain.. it's a high mileage motor and I'm rebuilding it so I'm going to be changing it anyways.

  • how was your new chain. i have the same problem i bought the chain over a year ago and finally got around to installing it...im pissed these arent cheap.
