I think boy choirs are a little creepy, but this sounds great. A little slow in places and some things sound quite different than they did in our performance (all parts, 6 or 7 years ago).

But we'll perform it all again this sunday, so I'll get a chance to check if I remembered it correctly.

I definitely know what you're saying. I sang in a community choir that until recently was disbanded as a tenor. I frequently envied the enormous soprano and generous alto sections, as any mistake made by one of the handful tenors would be more noticeable than one made an individual in the female sections...

Perhaps Bach would have preferred adult voices in some instances anyway. Maybe boys were more consistently available. I have sung in church choirs for 40 + years and over those years choir participation and commitment waxed and waned. Altos would have to sing tenor and sopranos might reluctantly sing alto, and in dire situations basses would have to sing tenor, and in the worst case scenarios, the director might have to sing any of the parts (hahaha!). Who knows. I can appreciate your comment.

I love this one. Tempo may be a little slow but that's not bad. I watched another one which I felt the tempo was a little too fast. I sang this in a concert 14 years ago - Parts 1 - 4 were performed in the same concert and to my surprise,I was very taken with Part 4 - this chorus, the solos, and especially the soprano solo with the soprano echo coming from another part of the performance hall.

I like boy sopranos because I was one once.Now I am a Bass 2. :-)and have been for years. :-)

yes thats right...boy choirs are a little bit too ..oh i don´t know...i think that sopranos must be singing by girls

Beautiful. But for some reason, I never liked boy sopranos and altos...
