saw this today...amazing!

Yeah, too bad Henry didn't get to enjoy having people experience and enjoy his work.

It doesn't look like he wanted or needed anyone else to enjoy it... seems like he had enough of a phantasy life to have anyone he wanted to enjoy his work - magician. I guess we are just lucky that he wrote it down - there must be so many people out there who live lives like this and keep it all locked away..

Chad - I do, too. There are excerpts in Michael Bonesteel's "Henry Darger, Selected Art and Writings." In Switzerland the whole thing has been published uncut. Over here, it will be coming out soon but only in a censored version because (and this is one of the few times you'll ever hear me say this): American culture is stupid.

i just discovered henry's existence today, read an article about him in an art magazine. Fascinating, amazing, can't find words to describe it really...
