So I did a glitch seen in the TAS of Super Mario Bros., but I did it in real-time on console. I've done this before, but never this fast. I think this means 4:59 in Super Mario Bros. is definitely possible for me. I just wish I had more time to play lately.

Enjoy!

  • NICE!!! GJ Andrew.. take that shit from HappyLee.. :p

  • @andrewg1990 TAS xD

  • @TheExarion Now you're just being crazy hahaha.

  • @andrewg1990 The l+r trick at the beginning, right? I see now, I use that in all my speedruns xP

  • @TheExarion It uses an acceleration trick, which uses Left+Right input on the controller. This movement cannot be used for faster acceleration. Mario falls like 2 frames behind getting a 244, and there's no way to fix that.

  • Andrew you beat everything you know that.

  • @andrewg1990 ...yeah... but haven't you seen the TAS WR...?

  • Good luck Andrew.

  • @TheExarion Was it by any chance the PAL version?

  • @andrewg1990 I've speedran it a few times, and got 244 (TAS of course, because I suck irl on 2D games :P). What about it makes it impossible? Because I assure you, if you keep constant speed from start to finish (including the climb up the "stairs", you can get it. In this run, you wasted about half a second killing those Hammer Bros. at 1:26, You need that half second to end with 244. ;O
