i do not know thankgiving since we don't celebrate it in the netherlands. Still i believe i and we should be thankfull for all blessings,even small ones, we have got. And i am thankfull for my Lord that he wakes me up every dzy up and untill now. You people in US, i wish you happy thanksgiving this year.

A time when variety shows were a major part of television. The holiday shows were awesome, and I am talking about ALL holidays.

@SneakyGuy55 What hurts me a little is that we need to eat as much as possible onThanksgiving (well you as American) and also at Christmas. Most people don't even know what we celebrate with Christmas anymore. That's painfull, 'cause we thansk The Lord for all His blessings and then we stuff ourselves every year. Sometimes I really think about not going anywhere with Christmas and stay home, all alone. Maybe then I can remember why we celebrate Christmas and be thankfull;)

@evertjan1973 Actually, when I was younger, I would "stuff" myself even more. I used to eat two full plates of food on Thanksgiving. I could barely move. :-) I'm being good now and only eat one plate of food but I was stuffed anyway. Black Friday occurs only because Thanksgiving day is on the last Thursday in November. Many people have the day off from work the day after Thanksgiving and choose to go shopping. I choose not to go shopping on Black Friday because of the crazy crowds.

We don't know such things as Black Friday. Nevertheless we have a bunch of busy days just before Christmas. Not like Black Friday and we do not have bargains then. 'Cause around these days everything is twice as expensive;)
