  • What you said reminds me of something I heard in another video on youtube, that I thought was pretty powerful:

"You don't lose weight to get healthy, you get healthy to lose weight"

A lot of people are focused on the body image primarily. I think focusing on health, like you suggest, is the best way to go about it. I liked your video :)

  • I absolutely LOVE that quote! Sums it up quite beautifully! Thank you!! :)

  • I tried accepting myself fat too. Now I am wondering why I ever thought that way.

Congrats on the loss. You are doing great!!

    marjie

  • Thank you Marjie...you know, I know exactly why I wanted to...but when my health became an issue it was no longer up for negotiation. It's too bad it had to get that dire before I got serious.

  • Great job on the weight loss!!!

  • Thank you Vanessa...we are almost the same weight again!!! :)

  • I accept fat ,i have sex with Fat women, i dont ve a problem with fat women,i think if they are fat, they should first accept themselves as fat,cuz what i realised is that most fat women put on this front as tho they r happy being fat,but when they get home, they r miserable with what they see in the mirror. However,i dont like fat people in the plane taking my damn seat, thats my only exception, these 2 fat chicks squeezed me for a 3 hrs flight to miami last yr,it wasnt a fun flight for me at all.

  • I think what you are missing is that FAT is not the problem . Poor diet and low activity levels have WAY more health issues than weight . Im fat , I dont weight myself bc weight is just not relavant , but Im a size 18/20 at 5'3'' , very happy with my size and very , VERY healthy . I work out every day , eat a VERY healthy diet and have all my life . I except my body , in fact I LOVE my body . Funny thing is , Im in better shape than mot thin ppl I know :) lol

  • I totally agree with u. I used to be 210 lbs and i was miserable. Compared to a lot of the girls in the "Fat and Proud" doc i was pretty small- i was at a aize 18. I actually didnt look too bad, but i felt awful.

Now I'm down to 160 at a size 10. I'm still dealing with my clinical deprssion, but i'm not locking myself in the house all the time, or being afraid to do my hair and wear makeup. My feet dont hurt anymore and i dont feel embarassed to go buy clothes with other people. Fels good. :)

  • Very honest video!

  • You make some great points here. I totally agree with you. AND you are sooo right. People who haven't been there... they REALLY don't understand.

  • oh wow! LOL thank you ~ you just made my night!! LOL my butt would have to disagree with you however... ;) I have a loooonnng way to go but I'm starting to be able to feel it in my clothes alot, and once in awhile I can see it in my face a bit now. :) It's exciting!!
