(Rude comments will not be approved, so don't bother.) This large species is still not easy to acquire. It is the only species in the hobby that is comparable to Blaberus giganteus in size (it's 95% the size of B. giganteus). The nymph that escaped under my skirt wasn't easy to find after I took this video. :P They are very flighty as nymphs, but very calm as adults.

  • So I would assume this is NOT food for another one of your collections?

  • @PaintedRoadkill Nope, I don't keep anything big enough to eat these or even discoids. These guys are special. :)

  • i do like the markings on the back. it looks kind of like a skull and crossbones...or an upside down lady bug.

  • I've never seen a blaberus act this calm before. He's so cute!

  • Wow, what a beautiful coloration there! So cute how it pulls its head under its shell when startled. I'd name it "Morty". ^_^
