Cécile - There's No Justice (3:16)

"Beyond electro-punk"

"It might have been a sign when a five-year old Carlo Alberto broke the violin his grandfather gave him, trying to play it like a guitar. But 16 years later, Cécile has paid his dues, having studied piano at the Santa Cecilia music school in Portoguaro. He takes out any lingering violin-inspired aggression by banging out songs like "There Is No Justice" or remixing punk band Altro with the help of a Fender Stratocaster guitar, drum kit and laptop. Cécile's not just about electro-punk aesthetics though, and creates a softer, more melancholic palette via his Satie-inspired Color A project."

"Cécile is a music project that takes its name from the saint protector of musicians, here in a profane outfit. After the classical piano studies, multi-instrumentalist C.D. starts experimenting with electronic music seeking for the feeling of the classical composer, one and only master of every aspect of the composition. The first productions grasp immediately important attentions, and in less then six months from his first appearance online, Cécile is in the studio with Bob Rifo (The Bloody Beetroots) to work on a conjoint remix for the Italian songwriter Bugo (Universal Records). The catchy remix is quickly noticed overseas by superstar-dj Steve Aoki, who inserts it in his Essential Mix for BBC Radio1 and in his Space Dust Mix for Dj Mag, a compilation printed in 100.000 copies given out with the popular magazine.
The artistic collaboration with Bloody Beetroots doesnt find rest: the output is a second remix for the French electro-duo S.P.A., which will be featured in their first release for Steve Aokis label (Dim Mak) in 2009.
During the summer of 2008 Cécile unveils himself to the public with his appearance behind Magazzini Generalis console, playing piano in the middle of his electro-punk live-set. Coming next are numerous performances, from the most prestigious Italian Clubs to Barcelonas City Hall.
In the mean time, Cécile is one of the two Italian artists selected to participate to the 2008 edition of the prestigious Red Bull Music Academy, in which he comes in contact with numerous influences that contribute even more to the eclectism of his productions. One of the productions made during the academy was recently selected to figure in the representative compilation for the 2008 edition."

  • Live è fantastica.

  • Ma è Fantastica!!!!!

  • I hear some similarities with daft punk. The collaboration with bloody beetroots brings out more of it though.

I love "have mercy on us" and the remixes Cécile does with classical samples. I've played the piano for 13 years. sad part is I have no talent when it comes to electronical music. I really envy you Carlo.

  • it's so punk & minimal!

    fucking track!!
