job success = life success is a pretty common belief I find among people, and what you describe as "survival mode" mentality is also something that occurs in people quite often. People like stability/security of the status quo and are generally risk averse...some culture are more risk averse and others less, but it is something that is pretty common on the whole.
Just figured I should post this so you know you're probably not the only person that feels this way. I find this helps me sometimes.

Well do your positions on politics and economics not flow from your personal philosophy? I suppose saying that I completely disagree or disregard what you stand for isn't truly accurate as I do believe in the freedom of the individual and the eventual dismantlement of the state structure i.e. the ultimate goal of socialist revolution.

No cat, just the top of a folding char and a cut up trash bag. All related to my experiment of blocking out my window so I can sleep in later.
So far, results have been mixed.

While I completely disagree with your politics/philosophy (I'm a Marxist, in the Bolshevik tradition) I have to say I'm extremely impressed by your honesty and indeed courage in these latest videos. More power to you comrade - hope whatever decision you make works out for you and those you care about.

Are you sure you completely disagree with my philosophy (which encompasses much more than politics)? It seems like if you can appreciate my videos here, there must be some connection between my values and yours.

do you like your job? Do you used any valuable skills that most people cannot easily learn?

The job is ok. Most of the skills are basic "office" type skills (how to use Microsoft Office software, how to interact in a professional corporate manner, etc.) and data analysis skills.
I think they are skills that would be useful at many places, mainly in office environments.
