Stephen Gately's Final Interview Makes Up With Mum

Stephen Gately patched up a decade-long rift with his mother in one of his final acts before his death, he revealed in his final interview.

The pair had quarrelled since 1999 when Margaret Gately gave an interview to a tabloid newspaper on the day her son came out as gay, with their relationship particularly strained over the last five years.

But in an interview with Reveal magazine, given two weeks before he died, the former Boyzone singer said he flew to Dublin to make peace with his mother.

Gately said: "There were tears and I told her I loved her very much and I'd always be there for her.

that's good for him to make up with his mom b4 death. but anyway he brough andrew back to visit her and celebrated her b-day. and there are few visit afterward. u think steo is happy by looking down seeing what had andrew and ronan done fir him. r.i.p. love stephen gately.
