world records also will have no buisness being called perfect technique either.tommy kono will tell you that to your face.he discusses it in detail.no need to argue with him, thats why we call them the ly lifts-barely and wobbly! nothing perfect in this world-that includes us.we can only practice, practice, practice.hav
e a good day sir. -
When you call your video 'Perfect technique' you're asking for trouble, really.

@4derrick You answered the question when you said most people would agree. Defining a skill as perfect is subjective. The same with weightlifting. The technical skill one has in the sport of lifting has to also be coupled with their strength and level they achieve in the sport. A 10 year old could have perfect technique, but so what.

ive been training for 27 years.studied under the guidence of jim schmitz[3 time usa coach.] i thought he did a wonderful job,and ,i a agree.PERFECT TECHNIQUE!you have a great future.nourish it and never let anyone stand in your way of success.
You know why people only add 2 kilos to their total a year at the OTC?
Because they're doing this stupid hybrid shit instead of real lifting. Broz's gym adds 40-50kg a year, and even his athletes can't make it to Worlds.

@RandomStevie Well good thing Darrel doesn't train there. He only does block work using combos/complexes once a week but not when competitions come around. In 2011 our team had three Sr. World members.

You lift with so called perfect technique, off boxes or from the knees, because the leverage point is already dead set, which you cannot achieve always from the platform, but should. The acceleration point is also different off boxes. Lifters should not go to max off boxes because it is a different lift and lifters need to train by doing the complete motion from the platform. The pull from the platform to full extension needs to be trained as one smooth continuation of accelerations.

@jimbones155 I'm not sure what you mean by the so called technique comment. I agree with what you are saying which is why we never max out off blocks, and why we spend the majority of the time coming off the floor.

@4derrick It's the use of the ambiguous term "perfect". It is the lifter's own particular style or form of lifting that matters. Technique only supplies a motion, and not the strength or speed to progress using that motion. In weightlifting it only matters how much weight is lifted, irregardless of how good, better or perfect those mechanics are. I would simply say he uses his style of lifting with precision. Only world records can be considered perfect, everything else is not.

@jimbones155 Lets use an example, looking at basketball players in the NBA most people would agree that Ray Allen of the Boston Celtics has the best mechanics/technique to his jump shot. Michael Jordan did a lot of winning and was a great scorer but never did people say he had a perfect jump shot. Tim Tebow has won a great amount of football games at all levels but never would someone say that because he is very successful that his throwing technique is perfect.
