I had known "Amazing Grace" was a Christian hymn by Englishman John Newton. I did not know the origin of the notes. It's amazing that such a wonderful piece of music and lyrics could come from such a horrible situation.
It appears that the Lord had the hearts of both the captian of a slaves on the ship on his mind......
