This is NOT a job of a professional. I just got to this point by trial and error, and it is working for me quite well.
There are some steps missing that i forgot to capture on film, but if there is any interest in this, i am planning on doing some work to the rear bumper and i can make another (more detailed) video.

  • wouldnt recommend that methd, but good job. what sander you using?

  • @JOEGGGJOE I was never a fan of fiberglass, but i have to say that after almost a year and a half i have no problems with it(cracking, deforming...). I'm using a Rupes DA sander, 150mm diameter.

  • hi would you be able to tell me how to repair a front bumper that has cracked.. The lower panel of my front bumper has cracked on both sides, so there is a whole pole now separate to the rest of the bumper? What would you recommend I do to repair it with the fibreglass kit

  • @kkzli sure, you could use fiberglass. But only on the inside of the bumper (not visible side). On the outside of the bumper you could just use bondo to fill in the crack. Check this video out to get a better picture of what i mean: watch?v=QE3A_KAtbPQ

  • why did you bondo it? to make it stronger? cant you just fiberglass it than sand it down?

  • @beewizie Bondo will never make anything stronger. When working with fiberglass like that (without some kind of vacuum) there will always be airbubbles which you have to fill with bondo. Plus. Fiberglass is quite hard to sand, so getting it perfect without bondo is very difficult (at least for me;))

  • Excellent video! Procedure looked professional to me! :)

So, the painter tape rmained underneath the fiberglass, right?

    Is the fiberglass result brittle?

What was that sanding block/wedge that you used to sand down the bondo with?

    Thanks for the inspiration!

  • Thank you for the great detail. Going to repair my bumper now.

  • Nice One..... Very helpfull

  • good job mate! an its a 7 in the middle square :P
