ANACONDA GIVING BIRTH ANACONDA PARIENDO REPRODUCCION DE LA ANACONDA

Unlike the majority of snake species, anacondas give birth to live babies - sometimes 40 at a time! About 6 months after mating Anaconda need to bring their young into the world. In an Anaconda giving birth can take from 20 to 110 young Anaconda. .. Baby snakes are about 2 feet (0.6 meters) long when they are born and are almost immediately able to swim and hunt. Their lifespan in the wild is about ten years.
They reach their monumental size on a diet of wild pigs, deer, birds, turtles, capybara, caimans, and even jaguars. Anacondas are nonvenomous constrictors, coiling their muscular bodies around captured prey and squeezing until the animal asphyxiates. Jaws attached by stretchy ligaments allow them to swallow their prey whole, no matter the size, and they can go weeks or months without food after a big meal.

pueden parir hasta más de 70 crías aunque por lo general este número oscila en torno a las 40, lo que equivale a la tercera parte de su peso corporal; si la progenie es más numerosa, el peso de la anaconda después del parto puede reducirse hasta casi la mitad. Contrariamente a los ovíparos pitones y al igual que los demás boidos, las anacondas no cuidan a sus crías y éstas, que miden entre 60 y 80 cm de longitud y poco más de 3 cm de diámetro al nacer, tienen que defenderse por sí mismas. Presa fácil de depredadores tales como ocelotes, caimanes y otros animales de menor porte, las jóvenes anacondas sufren una gran mortalidad durante su primer año de vida.
